Reclusive, bearded Elmer (Simon Rex) has made a name for himself by scaring children and the residents of the small New England town he has lived in for years. But on Halloween night, his pattern is disrupted when a 10-year old girl named Natalie (Lizzy Weiss) — who shares his last name — arrives in town and elicits nothing more than fear and denial from him. When she sneaks into his house to investigate some odd noises, she instead finds her long lost uncle hiding away with Elmer's giant hunting cats. While Elmer tries to regain control of the situation, Michael learns about family secrets only to accidentally unleash terror upon himself. RELEASE DATE: March 30, 2005 This film was exactly what I would expect from a remake of a classic movie. It wasn't scary, but it did have a few creepy scenes that gave me goosebumps. The acting was brilliant and the soundtrack had me on edge and gripping my armrests in suspense. I was impressed with the effects and Acting/Directing in this film. The only thing that bothered me were some of the camera angles and sometimes poor sound recording, but overall it was an enjoyable watch! There's not much information concerning the plot of Boogeyman 2, except that it is about a family man who encounters something evil when he moves into his new house. It is not clear if Boogeyman 2 is a sequel to the original Boogeyman or not, but it seems unlikely that it would be. Similar to the 2001 remake of Halloween, this film was produced by Dimension Films and distributed by Paramount Home Entertainment on DVD, with the bonus features being on the disc only. Unlike its predecessor, this film was released direct-to-video in stores on VHS and DVD instead of being released through Paramount's on-demand service.
